Husband? Check.
Friday, February 08, 2008 @ 11:42 PM Ever made a checklist for the kind of guy you wanted to marry? I was spring cleaning my room today when I came across a scrap of paper, dog-eared and torn off on one side. On it was scribbled the qualities I hoped for in my future husband. I don't remember when I had written it, but it was probably during my late secondary school days. Here's what it said: loves me + only me a deep voice easy laughter drive principled tender sensitive mature appreciates sweetness/silliness wise. Over the years, I had forgotten about my check list and simply just left it in a book which I had read halfway and chucked onto the shelf. ![]() As young girls, we usually hope that our future husband will be someone who is handsome and rich, just like Prince Charming. But as we grow older, we realise that our expectations have changed, we aren't easily satisfied as before, and we will not go for the temporary stuff like looks. Instead, we prefer our him having values like being trustworthy, mature and loving. I find that it is harder to satisfy me nowadays. My point of view constantly changes and my expectations increase as I grow older. I no longer view looks or financial capability as priority. Instead, I treasure character above anything else. It just determines everything. Being good looking or having the extra cash is a bonus though. And I guess that's a good thing. |
