I really feel like painting my room recently!

Saw and heard so much lately about everyone painting their rooms. And suddenly, I want to do it.

Actually, I wanted to do it long ago. When I was in Sec 2. Cos' I just moved to my new home (not so new anymore) and saw that the walls were CREAM. Cream beige, actually. My dad thinks that it's classic and nice.

But in my opinion, I think it's really plain. Beige is such a boring colour right? Heh.

I really ever dreamt of swiping my walls with dark burgundy red paint (ooh sexy) or maybe just a pale girlish pink in colour.

Sigh. When will I ever get to fulfil that dream.

Maybe I should just sneak to some DIY shop next week and start painting my room all my myself. Tough job, but if nobody wants to help me.

I'll just have to do it myself!

Whenever I feel really really stressed, this song never fails to make me relaxed.

Bebel Gilberto, Summer Samba (So Nice)

Someone to hold me tight
That would be very nice
Someone to love me right
That would be very nice
Someone to understand
Each little dream in me
Someone to take my hand
And be a team with me

So nice, life would be so nice
If one day I'd find
Someone who would take my hand
And samba through life with me

Someone to cling to me
Stay with me right or wrong
Someone to sing to me
Some little samba song
Someone to take my heart
And give his heart to me
Someone who's ready to
Give love a start with me

Oh yeah, that would be so nice
I could see you and me, that would be nice

Conversation between me and my dad.

"Jiaxin, what's this folder michael bubble in the computer?" he asked. (His name is Michael)

He must have been curious what his name was doing on that folder.

"Huh?" I said, feeling kinda irritated cos I was interrupted while doing a really hard Maclaurin's Series question. I had pondered over that particular question for over 30 mins already. "I don't know."

"What folder is this?" he asked again.

My head hurt.
I paused halfway and thought, maybe it's some folder that Mummy created.

"Yes?" he said.

"I dunno." I said loudly in a really pissed way, wishing he would stop asking.

"Can I delete it?" he asked.

Without even thinking, I said, "Okay okay."

*****

Half an hour later, when I finished completing all of the Maclaurin's tutorial, I went over to the computer. There, was the folder labelled "Michael Buble", still sitting on the desktop.

I smiled. So it was the folder I had created a few weeks ago for my iTunes list!

And my dad actually thought it was "michael bubble" which sounded like his own name. Haha.

My dad's so cute.

@ 3:07 AM

It's 3am and I just woke up from my 4 hour nap, now I'm going to start studying MacLaurin's Series. Sigh. I think I sleep too much.

Eh? Do you think so?

I MUST curb this annoying sleeping habit! Everywhere I go also sleep. (Okay, not true) But I'm able to fall asleep anytime of the day, just lie on a bed for a while and APOOF! I'm off.

Hmmm. Anyway, it's time for a little emo.

I just read my old friends' blogs, like Jasmine and Samantha Tan and I know that I really miss them. Even though sometimes I don't reply your messages online or sms, you know that I'm always like that. But I will always see you guys as my friends, forever.

And you guys will always be my good friends.

I still miss the feeling of having a BEST FRIEND.

You know, in JC it's hard to find a best friend anymore because everyone is just busy studying or mixing around with others, we tend to mix AROUND more than we understand someone a lot. Hence the number of cliques. Most people also don't see the priority and importance of having a main buddy anymore because it's only 2 years that you spend in JC, how long can you survive with someone?

My wish is that when I go to the University, I want to find just someone, that special someone to share things with and to truly understand me.

I know some people haven't had best friends in their lives, but actually a best friend is someone you can just hang around with, joke with, do anything silly or cry with and even put pimple cream in front of each other and talk for 2 hours to sleep.

And although some people think that a best friend is someone you are meant to share everything with (secrets included), I don't really think this is true cos some things just should not be shared. Such as sensitive issues, which might end up causing more harm than good.

But nonetheless, I am able to talk to my best friend and just confide in her no matter what, knowing that she will be there for me and listen or even provide some constructive advice.

Heh. Don't wanna go too long-winded. But the point is, I love my good friends. Love love love love love!

Yupp. What about you? Do you have a best friend?

Today, I stayed back after school for Project Work. After that, I went to ask Henry math questions which I didn't know how to solve. Then we went to eat in the canteen. We saw Xiling and joined her. Heh. It was quite fun, we talked about random stuff and it was really entertaining.

:D

XL was browsing through my phone and looking at the various themes that I had and she decided to download some and go home and look through them herself. Haha.

We talked until about 7pm and then we headed home. At the bus stop, H and I were waiting and suddenly we saw Mr Isaac Lim appear. Then I asked him, "Did you wear your collar pin?" He looked down, said, 'No." and we were like "Uh oh..." cos I didn't wear too. Hah. I think I lost mine.

Isaac was with his little daughter and they were going home together. She is really cute and kinda looks like him.

At the bus stop, he was holding her hand and hugging her towards him. They were both laughing and she started asking him questions, the usual kind of questions that little children ask when they're curious. This scene kinda touched me. I thought he was really sweet towards her. He seems like such a loving father.

And the way he wore his PE shorts up high plus super high socks just looked kinda nerdy but so fatherly. Haha.

I used to think he was a little eccentric and amusing, cos in school he would speak with an accent (dunno if he purposely does that, but I hope not) and he always gave guys a stern look and chide those who didn't wear collar pins. To me he seemed really serious, like he was just doing his duty. But outside, he's an entirely different person. The way he spoke to his daughter was so gentle and I could tell that he really loved her a lot.

And this is kinda funny, but this heartwarming scene just kinda touched me. Probably becos' I haven't seen this side of him before.

I wonder if Michael Tan is like that too. Hehh.

Isn't it amazing how many fathers who are important role figures (some who are CEOs, discipline masters, and police men) are so sweet and loving to their family and friends outside of their work?

It just really amazes and touches me.

Rich Chocolate Brownies with Walnuts And Strawberries.

I made these the other day but was kinda lazy to put up this entry :D
Been studying and doing maths lately, which is something I should do.

It's the holidays, but promos are coming soon.

I feel like I'm trapped in a tunnel of darkness now. Haha.

In my free time, I like to search for recipes and watch TV shows like The Tyra Banks Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show as well as the Martha Stewart Show. They are actually kinda interesting, the interviews and fashion tips and all. I know. I have become a stay-at-home auntie. :(

Anyway, here are some pictures.

The Recipe

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Butter
1/2 lb of Cooking Chocolate
1 and 1/3 cups Fine Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
3 Eggs
1 packet Vanilla Sugar
1 and 1/8 cups All Purpose Flour
1 packet Whole Walnuts (easily available at any supermarket, but if you want the quality kind, you can head on down to Phoon Huat )

4 and 1/2 cups Strawberries
1/2 glass Strawberry Jam

STEPS:

1. Double-boil the chocolate and butter, until it starts to melt.

2. Stir it from time to time and add sugar gradually. When everything has molten, take it off from the heat and let it cool.

3. Whisk the eggs. Add the eggs and the vanilla sugar to the chocolate.

4. Chop the walnuts and fold it into the mixture.

5. Mix until everything has been mixed nicely.

6. Add flour to the batter and make sure that everything is mixed thoroughly again.

7. Once beaten well, it should be of this consistency. Thick and gooey.

8. Pour the batter into a round baking tin, that has been greased.
That's my mom's hand, btw :)

9. Bake for approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour. Check on your brownie from time to time, as some ovens are faster than others!

10. An easy trick is to test with a toothpick to see if it is ready or not. Stick the toothpick in and pull it out. If no dough stays on the pick, the cake is done.

After 45 minutes (in my oven), bring it out!

11. It looks like this. But don't fret, you're going to have to pile things on top.

11. Slice the strawberries into half.

12. Spread some strawberry jam on the brownie.

13. And arrange the strawberries on it.

13. When you're done, place it in the fridge for about 3 to 4 hours, for the brownie to set.

And voila! Rich chocolate brownies with walnuts and strawberries!
