Monday, December 31, 2007 @ 11:30 AM NEW YEAR'S EVE! Hey guys, it's New Year's Eve! Last day of 2007, to be exact. Later I'm going to watch a movie with Samantha, HL, Henry, Jasmine, and her friend BEAN. Jas has decided to watch this show called Across The Universe. It's described as a 'psychedelic love story with Beatles songs infused in it'. To tell the truth, I don't watch much love movies nowadays cos I don't believe in them. Well, not in the proper word 'Love', that is, I very much still believe in true love and that there is a special individual for each of us somewhere out there. I just somehow find that love movies are surreal and to an extent, somewhat over-exaggerated. Yea baby, in real life, love don't happen that way. Some deeply in love couples might pause and tell me here, that love is a beautiful and sacred thing and it keeps them in bliss, etc. Well, it is true, for a while that is. The truth and reality about love is that much of it doesn't really last like that for very long and the afterwards is based on more of aspects like honesty, trust and faith. For example. Without honesty, it's hard for you to place trust in your partner, and without trust, how would you have the faith to carry on? We are all aware that while being in love, there might be someone better for you somewhere out there. You might be with your boyfriend for a certain period of time but suddenly one day you meet a more interesting and better-looking guy. The truth is that, despite knowing that there will always be people who are better for you out there, you are comfortable and happy with what you have right now. I realised this after my previous relationship. Sometimes, absence makes the heart grow fonder but other times it can just work the other way. Hell. There's always the temptation of finding someone better out there, but why do some couples stick together for a long time? ****** Anyway, we are gonna watch this show called Across The Universe and I hope I don't fall asleep later . I decided to go for the show only because Jasmine, my bestfriend wants to watch it and I'll accomodate her. After all, when was the last time we watched a movie in our group of 4? :) Really like that feeling of having someone to share popcorn and nachos with. :D The last love show that I watched was The Lakehouse in sec 3 with the same group of people, except Henry and Bean weren't there. And I really slept halfway during the show, despite my efforts to open my eyes wide and listen to the beautiful dialogue. I mean, how absurd is a love story where the man meets a woman in a different time zone and has to travel through time to marry her? It was kinda boring to me. I find it hard to keep awake during shows that are not 'real', like fantasies and cartoons. When I watched The Golden Compass with Henry, Aaron, James and Raphael and I couldn't help feeling my eyelids getting heavy after I found out that the characters actually have animals walking around them as their 'souls'. And I fell asleep halfway while the guys kept awake and actually watched the show till its end. I think my childhood imagination has died. :( Well, the only cartoon I have ever liked was Shrek and still is. :) Heh. At least Shrek is still funny and watchable. ****** Okay, since it's New Year's Eve I shan't be a sport and spoil all our imaginations as well. I can't wait to watch fireworks with the friends I love! Kinda relish the fact that the people I enjoy spending time with are gonna be with me on the last day of this year. I'll post a video of fireworks when I return! And I know I haven't posted pictures of Penang yet but I promise I will. Do it. Someday. Hehh. Just kinda lazy to do it nowadays. (: |
