Saturday, December 01, 2007 @ 7:42 PM Blossom Teas. ![]() They're really beautiful and magical. Have you ever heard of, blossoming teas? They're basically green tea leaves and flower petals hand-woven into the form of tiny balls. ![]() Looks a little bit like elephant's poo at first. There are various names for it – Buddha’s Eyes / Balls / Tears, Dragon Pearls or Flowers, Bouquet Tea, Artisan Tea, Performance Tea etc. We drop them into a glass of hot water or a kettle to infuse them. ![]() When infused, the tea rosette immediately unfurls into a delicate blossoming flowery shape. As each ball unfolds, it reveals a hidden blossom. ![]() Longing Heart ![]() 3 Flower Burst ![]() Dragon 4 Flowers The cool thing is, it unfolds right in front of your eyes. It's like watching a miniature flower submerged in water, bloom in front of you. Humans just have this obsession with size, whether big or small. It's amazingly stunning, beautiful and weird at the same time. These flowers have been known to give the tea a light, sweet and refreshing aftertaste. They are not as strong as the common Lipton tea that we drink. It also gives off the natural aroma of jasmine when the ball unfurls. I think they would make really cute gift ideas. I found it right here, at Dragonwater Tea. (US) Haha. Makes me wanna buy some for my Mom. ![]() |
