TOP 5 FAVOURITE SHOE BRANDS.

Speaking about heels the other day, I came up with a list of top 5 shoe brands that I like.

1.

The creme de la creme of pricey celebrity shoes! I can't say I love the shoes yet, cos I have yet to try them on. I do like the shoes here because every piece is like a work of art.

Jimmy Choo shoes were originally worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and The City, and it soon rose to popularity and fame among the celebrities.

Jennifer Lopez wore sparkly Jimmy Choos to the Oscars.

And... So did Charlize Theron.

This is because they seem to give you an air of elegance and sophistication, without looking like you try too hard. These shoes are well-known for being sky-high and yet give you more comfort than the average high heel shoe.

However, there are still certain times when you need to give your feet a rest.

Perfect sandals for being on a cruise or going Sun
day shopping.

Another thing about Jimmy Choos is that it is almost impossible not to look sexy in them.

Erm, the price range is also... Sexy?

Oh wells... Maybe next time.

2.

Manolo Blahnik, legendary shoe designer and creator. An example here is Mr Blahnik's "heel-less shoe".

His shoes, sold around the world, range in price from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. They often come with stiletto heels, which can reach as high as 5 and a half inches, and are often embellished with lace, beads or ribbons. His shoes were also often mentioned on the TV show Sex and The City.

Other more ready for reality pieces are spunky and cool. They definitely still hold a little of this designer's quirky personality.

This will make heads turn.

Army prints coupled with dazzling diamantes?

Manolo, you never fail to surprise me.

3. MONDO

The shoes here are really really cheap. Dirt cheap. It ranges from a low $9 to about $50 something for a pair, depending on whether you're choosing flats, heels or boots. Sometimes, even pieces from the $9 section can be good, provided you search carefully.

I myself have bought two pairs of heels from here before, one is an open-toed red mock crocodile-skin heel (I don't take REAL animal skin, please) and the other is a 4-inch pointy-toed black pumps. I love them both.

Service at this shop is so-so, bit nonchalent at peak periods... Come on, when you pay this kinda price, you should also accept this kinda service. As they say, yi fen qian yi fen huo. Otherwise, when you come in on weekday mornings the staff are usually attentive.

PROS: Price, Sexy catwalk trends

CONS: Wears out easily and fast

Service: 3/5

4.

I know you've been waiting for this. Charles and Keith has been a long-running shoe brand in Singapore, Southeast Asia. It recently expanded to the Middle East, and now offers a wide range of different types of shoes, bags and accessories.

Many people might mistake this for an auntie brand, but Charles & Keith is actually becoming more popular today and keeping up with the latest trends by offering classic and feminine pieces.

Pros: Affordable shoes, Durable quality, Sweet & Classic Designs

Cons: Not much of latest trends here, Has a lot of sloppy slippers, Certain bags can come across looking like you've scavenged it from a pasar malam

Service: 2.5/5

5.

Last but not least, our dear and beloved Gripz. A homegrown Singaporean brand, this shop has expanded to several different outlets. The shoes here are cute and contemporary, perfect for the little casual outing out where you don't have to worry about getting your shoes wet or dirty. (Actually, you should not have to worry about that 99% of the time)

Polka dotted and cute!

And of course, you need something out-of-the-ordinary sometimes, for just when you feel like it.

Pros: Cute shoes, retro shoes.

Cons: Shoes only come in limited sizes, prices are slightly steeper than mainstream shoe shops Charles & Keith, Bata and Mondo.

Service: 3.5/5

Okay, so basically here's my summary of all my favourite shoe shops. Hope you enjoyed and had fun reading them :)
