Thursday, October 11, 2007 @ 11:31 PM Just came home from the Newpaper New Face competition. ![]() It was a loud affair with music blasting in my ears. We got to sit in those comfy white chairs while people outside waited and looked in. And there were freebies as well! Haha. I'm such a cheapo. :D Well, what can I say. The visual effects really did enhance the girl's faces. And there was a pretty funny video about them 'dao-ing' this other new girl in school... Pretty awkward though. A catfight broke out! The winner was Girl no. 10, Miriam Wright ![]() followed by 1st runner up, Natalie Foster ![]() and 2nd runner up, Nicole Tan who is also Miss Photogenic. ![]() I did think the prettiet was Jessica De Costa. ![]() The one who got the most cheers was actually Natalie Foster. Actually, the whole place was rather quiet so 'most cheers' could be counted as a small group of about 8 or 12. Anyway, the atmosphere was really draggy and people were just not cheering at all. I guess they were tired. During the part where the host said, "And the winner gets the grand prize of $10,000!", the whole audience was quiet. Nobody said anything. Then she implied, "Clap!" And ONE guy shouted, "Woo! $10,000!" I laughed till I almost fell out of my chair. The only eye candy I saw were: 1) SUPER HOT male models who looked so professional and delicious next to the New Faces. Every girl had a guy to partner with. And they even held hands! I think the girls in the audience were swooning. 2) Georgia Lee, whom I actually think is beautiful for her age. 3) The super mini short skirts that the girls wore. During the opening scene, they marched out in school uniforms, with absurdly altered lengths and designs. Some of them were pretty stunning. I also saw my old school, SCGS which actually looked quite sexy compared to the original one. Then they partied out in other brands like River Island and Mphosis. Actually, most of the competition had girls coming out in short skirts and I think it was the only eye candy provided for the men. Afterwards, the audience started to get restless. I felt that the whole competition was too long and filled with draggy sequences, such as guys dancing around in poms poms. Oh wells. After we watched finish the competition, I went to buy Hokkaido Dark Chocolate ice cream. Love the dark chocolate. Rich and creamy. Next time I'll try Green Tea. :) |
